The Australia Percussion Gathering is taking place at Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University from August 26th – 30th 2010. A gathering of a cross-section of our musical community, this event brings together tertiary percussion students, secondary percussion students and their teachers, industry professionals from orchestras across the country, Australia’s leading percussion ensembles, and interested community members. Central to all activities are 4 international guests from diverse backgrounds: Prof. Steven Schick (UCSD), Sylvio Gualdo (Paris Conservatoire), Phil Treloar (Kanazawa) and Kuniko Kato (USA/Japan).

The APG 2010 will feature a tertiary percussion competition, a peer-reviewed conference, 7 concerts at the Conservatorium, 1 large community event for all in South Bank, masterclasses, workshops, industry booths and a bush performance excursion.
